Ukiah Gun Clubs Hot shooting Youth Team are Winners!!!

Members of the Ukiah Gun Club Scholastic Clay Target Program traveled to Auburn in April  for their first competition of the year and came back with plenty to brag about after making an excellent showing of their shooting skills. Two shooters earned second- place finishes in their respective divisions and one member earned a patch for having shot a perfect round of shooting after dropping 25 out of 25 clay pigeons. In the senior novice division one tied for second place after dropping 90 out of 100. In the shoot-off he then bested his opponents to take the second place all to himself. In the Junior novice division another posted a 91 out of 100 to also take a second place in that division. Not bad for the first time in competition and against over 100 other Youth Shooting Groups. The Scholastic Clay Target Program is a Nationwide competitive Shooting program for young adults. There are 10 youth from our club participating.

Shooters compete in three divisions- Senior (high school aged), Junior- junior- high aged), and Rookie (fifth and sixth graders).

This is the first year for this program here at Ukiah Gun Club and the first time these young men have competed. They travel next month to Petaluma for a May 1st competition and will host a competition on June 5th here at Ukiah Gun Club. A big congratulations for a job well done in Auburn for the coach and his entire team of fine young men and may they continue to improve.
