The Ukiah Gun Club has a 12 bench High Power Rifle Range and is fully equipped with soft carpet top bench rest, sand bags available for your use. The Rifle Range is also equipped with flashing strobe lights for elevated safety when range closed for shooters to check targets. There is a potbelly stove for those cold mornings to warm your hands and keep the chill from affecting your aim.

Rifle Range targets are steel gong and painted daily in fluorescent orange for added visibility. Steel gong targets are set at 120 yards, 140 yards, 220 yards and 340 yards.

The Ukiah Rifle & Pistol Club has a Running Deer target that installed in circa 1948, and still runs to this day. The running deer is available during the annual Turkey Shoots in the Months of November, and December and used only if request for use is in high demand.

Since the inception of The Ukiah Rifle & Pistol Club, the rifle range has had many uses from Small Bore Target, to grudge matches UGC vs. United States Marine Corps. There have been high-power varmint matches utilizing paper targets (of course). In addition, the list goes on with Black Powder Rendezvous, The Warhorse Shoots, and NRA Hunter Education etc.

There are also large target stands to tape or staple your precision targets for pinpoint accuracy shots with that high-power scope you have been wanting ton try. Then there are the shooters who just like to have some fun by banging away at the steel gong targets “GONGGGGG” it sure can be a lot of fun!

Pistols and Revolvers are allowed on the rifle range, please use caution… please be safe.

The Rifle Range is also home to the local Law Enforcement Agencies, Ukiah Police Dept, the Mendocino Sheriff Dept, The California Highway Patrol, and various local Tribal Police. All law enforcement agencies have their various procedures in tactical firearms training in defense for the very dangerous job of serving and protecting the public.

We value our friendship with the men and women of Law Enforcement and we strive to make their use of your club a friendly environment for all members of the Ukiah Gun Club. We know the fine people of UGC and of the local law enforcement and its agencies, respective, will endeavor to make a viable atmosphere for everybody.

The rifle Range is also a very good place to teach your young how to shoot and teach them the values of proper firearms safety. The future of firearms is in the hands of our youth, please, let’s teach them to have fun and most of all, let’s teach our young the values of proper firearms safety.
